After September, we are developing a programme of talks for the Autumn and winter.  So far we have:

  • October 12 Chris Jones - The Future of the Past
  • January 2011 John Cox - Horses in Prehistory
  • Date to be agreed: Adam Welfare from RCAHMS
  • Easter 2011 Rachel Pope

A key event is the David Dippie Dixon lecture, and we think we’ve been fortunate enough to secure the services of Dr. Alison Sheridan.  Dr. Sheridan is Head of Early Prehistory in the University of Edinburgh‘s Archaeology Department.  Her interests include the Neolithic and Bronze Age, and one of her recent projects has been on the origin of jade axes in the British Neolithic, which have now been traced to quarries high in the Italian Alps, some of which were active 7000 years ago.
